The company contacted the EEN coordinator and one of the sustainability advisors in the EENergy project Teija Pakanen at Business Finland. Their plan was well structured and ambitious, and well suited for EENergy project. The calculations supported the minimum of 5% energy saving target of the project. The company had a plan to renew all the windows in their factory in order to save in heating costs that account for a very large share of energy costs, especially during the long and cold wintertime in Finland. They replaced the wooden window frames with the aluminium ones that are significantly longer lasting and thus also more sustainable in the long run.
With the help of EENergy grant company was able to implement their energy efficiency plan. New windows are bringing significant improvements in the company’s energy efficiency reducing energy consumption by more than the requested 5 %. The company was able to update their sustainability profile and showcase that they are investing in their energy efficiency goals and are committed to making the actions in reducing their carbon footprint.
