The ERA Foundation is the operator of the Scout Center for Environmental Education and Sustainable Development in Leśna Huta. It is an educational center with about 50 beds in tourist conditions intended for schools, scouts and organized groups. In addition, the center provides catering services for educational and social institutions (schools, kindergartens, social welfare centers). The Foundation is assumed to be a social enterprise that currently employs 4 people, and plans to employ another 2-3 people in the coming weeks. Until the end of January 2025, the center also hosts refugees from Ukraine. The building in which the Foundation operates belongs to the Kaliska Forest District, and its long-term leaseholder is the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (the Foundation is the operator). The Foundation has its own assets (kitchen equipment, catering car, educational aids). The financial situation of the Foundation is stable. Revenues come mainly from the provision of recurring catering services as well as accommodation and educational services. In the summer, youth camps are held in the area occupied by the Foundation. Sales are mainly carried out in the public procurement mode (catering) and through schools and scout organizations (green schools, accommodation, camps). Purchases are made on the local market from reliable suppliers. Advertising is limited to social media. Competition is present on the supra-local market, and it consists of other low-cost centers of this type (including scouts, such as the Scout House in Gdańsk) as well as restaurants and catering companies. The local market, due to the low population density, is shallow.
